# Builders and End Users

> How developers, product teams, and users consume Livepeer-powered services.

Builders and end users represent the demand that gives the network real utility.

Builders integrate Livepeer capabilities into products, and end users consume those experiences.

## Builder Responsibilities

* Integrate gateway-facing APIs into applications
* Define workload requirements (latency, quality, cost)
* Operate product-level reliability and monitoring
* Iterate on product features based on network capabilities

## End-User Expectations

End users typically care about outcomes, not network internals:

* Fast response and smooth playback/generation
* Consistent quality
* Reliable availability
* Predictable product behaviour

## Why This Role Matters

Without sustained demand from builders and users, network supply and protocol incentives have no durable economic purpose.

Demand-side adoption is the driver that converts infrastructure into a functioning marketplace.
